What a weird couple of months it has been, with lock down limitations now majorly lifted and we return to some sort of normal, whatever normality looks like now i am reminiscing about the strangest months gone by but also pleased to announce Be Your Sass is back and i have reopened for business!
Since March my little vintage clothing shops doors have had to be closed with the corona virus forcing us all to lock down our lives. We were made to work from home, only venture out for an hour and stay away from others not in our household. It meant I became homeschool extraordinaire as well as now only trading online via my website and social media platforms. Something i struggled with at first as for me vintage clothing should be rummaged through, felt, tried on! But with my website sales ticking over I spent the last few weeks making connections online, even selling and sending a Be Your Sass vintage blouse to a very special customer all the way in France! I cant wait to see her styling it in the most romantic city in the world. Sass has gone global, with Parisian style influencing this look!
Thinking back to those lock down days when yoga was my saviour and midday Merlot became a treat a few times just to get me through the day. I was so grateful for my social media and its many daily challenges set by fellow vintage sellers online to encourage us to #getdressedanddontgetstressed keeping me creative, even putting the bin out in a ballgown, yep that happened!
What's your favourite lock down fashion moment? Maybe you had to do a home hair cut or like me for a brief moment epic fashion fails by getting way too comfortable in slipper socks and sliders. See previous blog for evidence!
I am happy to announce though after quite some time, my shop doors are well and truly open. You will find me back in my happy place Tuesday - Saturday 9am till 3pm.
As well as vintage clothing I have got lots of in-store collaborations from many of my very talented maker creative friends. My latest collab is with the awesome Play it By Ear who has provided me with handmade earrings for those who dare. Hell I dare! You will also find hand printed art from Art Pea handmade tin art from the colourful Peapod Creations beautiful macrame from Ola Fala Studio and upcycled reworked clothing from the awesome Happy Abbey Threads and i am cahoots with the gorgeous Oohlalemons who is on a reduce reuse recycle journey upcycling material into amazing fabric hair accessories! What do you think about ceiling mounted vintage badminton rackets for accessory displays?
After all we have endured you deserve a treat!
See you in store soon, lets get sassy
