Be Your Sass & Swoosh is back but this time its bigger and more sustainable than ever!
With #secondhandseptember in full swing, why not go out with a bang!
My first ever swoosh was held way back in February and it was a day i will never forget with all you coming from near and far to swoosh the house down. Well this time its going to be bigger and better an all out sustainable affair, supporting my local makers and creatives, folks like me you will find in and around St Columb Major with a passion for sustainability!
So whats a Swoosh i hear you yell!? A swoosh is a community clothing swap. A chance for you to be out with the old and in with the new. There is no better time than now as i'm sure like myself and many others you used the lock down period as a chance to organise your wardrobes! A swoosh is the perfect opportunity for you to reduce your wares, recycle your unwanted clothing and re-love someone else's fashions. We all know the saying one persons trash is another's treasure!
So how does it work, what do you need to swoosh? Simply bag up, up to 10 good quality clean items of clothing. Anything from shoes to jumpers. it will cost you a fiver to swoosh! I will provide you with a stamped swooshing card with the number of items you can collect. You can collect the same items of clothing that you dropped. One stamp equates to one item of clothing. Branding and quality are all checked and all items are equal.
Swooshing is a great way to update your wardrobe, get clothing for little money and together reduce textile waste. A fiver for a new to you bag of clothing. Winning!
To make sure we are all kept safe and to adhere to COVID;19 Regulations this time i am asking you to drop off your items of clothing for swooshing to me in-store at Be Your Sass in a tied up plastic bag on Wednesday 23rd September. Anytime from 9am to 3pm when i am open. It is there you can pay and i will provide you with your swooshing card ready for Sundays fayre. This will enable clothing to be disinfected and corona safe after 72 hours quarantine!
This time around Amidst the swooshing there will also be a sustainable shopping fayre a chance for you to support all our local independents with a passion like me to provide ethical shopping. You can enjoy a slice of something sweet all courtesy of Pink Peach Cake Company, She will have delicious home baked cakes and sweet treats for you to splurge on! She will be selling her handmade reworked clothing as well as offering a alteration and on the spot repair drop off shop.
